About Greenlight
Greenlight answers one question for Mac and iOS admins: is this Apple update safe to push to my fleet?
Greenlight is written for MDM admins who manage Apple devices with Jamf Pro and Microsoft Intune every day.
How verdicts work
- Release facts (versions, builds, dates, CVE counts, actively exploited CVEs, and SOFA's expiration dates) come from the free public SOFA feeds by Mac Admins Open Source.
- Verdicts are hand-written after checking Apple's enterprise and security notes, Jamf Nation, r/macsysadmin, r/Intune, Mr. Macintosh, and Microsoft's Intune docs. Every reported issue links to its source. When there's little evidence either way, the verdict says "no widespread issues reported" and lists what was checked.
- A release we haven't reviewed shows yellow / not yet reviewed. An older build replaced by a newer one in the same major line shows grey / superseded.
- Nothing goes green until it's 7+ days old. Before that, a clean release shows yellow / looking good, early, with the date it becomes eligible for green.
- Deferral dates are simple arithmetic on the release date, so you can line them up with your own deferral policy.
